IPHC Media Release 2021-021 Recreational Fishery Closure in IPHC Regulatory Area 2A: California

29 June 2021

Closure: The International Pacific Halibut Commission (IPHC) notes that the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and NOAA-Fisheries have indicated that the fishery limit for the IPHC Regulatory Area 2A Pacific halibut recreational fishery for California is estimated to be reached by 30 June 2021. Therefore, the IPHC Regulatory Area 2A Pacific halibut recreational fishery in California will close at the end of the day (23:59 PDT) Wednesday, 30 June for the remainder of 2021.
